it's all about how you feel
Remember the mornings when you accidentally slept in? You woke up in a panic. You were rushed. Rushed to get dressed. Rushed out the door. Rushed in traffic. When you arrived to work late, your head was down and you just felt embarrassed about your appearance. It probably affected you all day too. I bet you were not that productive and a little self-conscious and probably just kinda blah.
Now remember a morning when you woke up feeling great. You naturally woke up before the alarm clock went off. You took your time getting ready, had a cup of coffee while reading a magazine. You drove to work while listening to some of your favorite music and arrived to work 10-minutes early. You greeted everyone with a smile and felt good about starting your work day. You were probably very productive and before you knew it - lunch time.
I don't know about you, but I like the second scenario much better. The morning routine sets the stage for the rest of the day. The morning routine is more about how I feel and less about being productive. What ends up happening though is that I AM productive because I feel so good.

Here are the facts about the current reality of my life Monday-Friday:
So, best case is that I have 6 hours of "free time" each weekday. That is 30 hours a week, not including the weekends. My intent is to make sure that those 30-hours are inline with the pieces that make up my wheel of life.
In my morning routine I address four out of my nine wheel of life pieces: Spirituality, Self-Care, Service and Passions. It feels good knowing that I have done something towards almost half of the areas in my life that are important to be by 7:30 a.m. Here is a look at my morning routine to give you an example.
